Close to the Swiss border, county town of the Doubs department and of Franche-Comté, Besançon is well located relatively to its European neighbours. Besançon can be accessed:

By train

The Paris-Besançon TGV leads to the Viotte Station or the Franche-Comté TGV station. Shuttle trains link both stations.

The TGL coming from Lyon or Strasbourg leads to the Viotte station.
